First off, I have to say that Black Lives Matter. With all that is going on in the world, I would not feel right writing a blog post without acknowledging it. I do not even have all of the words to express how I feel, but just know that Natural Black Vegan is a safe space for all. As I’ve mentioned before in my post “My Favorite Vegan YouTube Channels”, I LOVE watching YouTube videos! It is definitely one of my favorite pastimes, and when I first started my natural hair journey, YouTube videos helped so much! Even now, when I run into roadblocks or I feel stuck in my hair journey, YouTube videos come in clutch! So, in no particular order, here are my favorite natural hair YouTube channels!
JONELLSEQUIRAXO
I have been watching Jonell Sequira since the beginning of my natural hair journey. She is a Type 4, high porosity natural, and her personality is refreshing! Her videos are detailed and honest, and as a high porosity girl, she is definitely one of my favorite natural hair YouTube channels!
CURLFRIENDARI
I have just recently subscribed to Arielle after seeing her on Instagram, and I love her channel! She does so many different natural hairstyles, and I have noticed that she uses a lot of Black-owned hair products, which is definitely a plus! Her videos are high-quality and she is a beautiful woman. I suggest you subscribe to her right now!
JEANETTEJBEAUTY
I have been subscribed to Jeannette for a while now, and her hair is GORGEOUS! Her videos are very in-depth and informative, so if you just want to see someone rush through their hair routine, she is not the one! A lot of her videos are about retaining moisture and focusing on hair health, so that’s why she is one of my favorite natural hair YouTube channels.
THE GLOVED NATURAL
When I first subscribed to Racheal, both of us still had relaxers! We started our natural hair journeys around the same time, so I have been subscribed to her channel for a long time. She is known as “The Gloved Natural” because she washes and styles her natural hair with gloves on. I have recently started doing this, and GIRL! It is life-changing! Racheal has thick, type 4 hair, and she often shows different, versatile styles, which I love. For all of these reasons, Racheal is one of my favorite natural hair YouTube channels!
WESTINDIERAY
You HAVE to subscribe to Ray’s channel! She has quickly become one of my favorite YouTubers PERIOD! Ray is the only loc’d channel I am subscribed to, but her videos are all about holistic healing, manifesting, spirituality, and DIY hair care. Basically, everything I’m really into! She is so smart and literally a ray of light. Even if you are not loc’d, I recommend that you subscribe to her. (DO IT NOW)
DAYE LA SOUL
I’m SUPER late because I just recently subscribed to Daye la Soul, and she is already on my favorites list! Her channel is really informative, and she is a great resource for colored/dyed hair. Also, if you want to know about hair typing, porosity, and things of that nature, she’s your girl.
THEBRILLIANTBEAUTY
I’ve been subscribed to Jodi for so long, and in my opinion, she is the QUEEN of protective styling! From crochet braids, to rope twists, to wigs, Jodi has the best tutorials! She is thorough and informative, but her videos are entertaining at the same time. If there’s any style you’re looking to try, check out TheBrilliantBeauty!
ONLYONEJESS
Jess is definitely one of my top favorite natural hair YouTube channels! She is REAL and hilarious, and she styles her hair in a way that is so entertaining! She is a proud follower of Christ, which I love, and she tries so many different hairstyles, even if they fail. She’s beautiful, smart, and talented, so her channel is definitely one you should subscribe to!
KIMBERLY CHERRELL
Kim is definitely in my top 3 favorite natural hair YouTuber channels! This girl is HILARIOUS, and she knows EV-ER-Y-THANG about natural hair! Even though she is low porosity, her videos are very helpful for me, and her tutorials and reviews are the best. She’s even started to vlog, and that content is great as well. She is the most honest, real YouTuber I know, and that’s why she’s on this list.
SHANIQUE BUNTYN
When I was first beginning my healthy hair journey, even before I decided to go natural, I subscribed to Shanique. She is very informative, and her videos are to the point. Shanique also shares her hair journey, favorite products, and healthy hair routines in an engaging way. And, she even has her own website where she sells natural hair essentials! So especially if you’re a beginner natural, I recommend Shanique!
IAMTRAEH
Another favorite natural hair YouTube channel of mine is IAMTRAEH. Traeh is funny and informative, but she always keeps it real. In addition to natural hair content, she also shows kid’s hairstyles, family fun, and subscriber-submitted hair stories. If you want to learn about hair and be entertained at the same time, subscribe to this channel!
LUHHSETTY
I LOVE being subscribed to Lisette! She is such a sweetheart, and her hair is ALWAYS perfect! Even though her texture is very different than mine, I love her channel because her videos are informative, light, and aesthetically pleasing. In addition to natural hair content, I love her vlogs, makeup tutorials, nail tutorials, and girl talk videos. She is definitely multi-talented and a channel that can be binge-watched for hours!
THECHICNATURAL
Kim is one of my favorite YouTubers of all time, and she is the only one to be featured on this post and my “My Favorite Vegan YouTube Channels” post! Her channel is so aesthetically pleasing, and she is a Jack of all trades! Her content includes natural hair, wigs, makeup, vegan food, minimalist living, fashion, and more. So, there is something for everyone. Seriously, you need to subscribe to her TODAY!
ABBIECURLS
Abbie is another one of my favorite natural hair YouTube channels! Her hair is very similar to mine, so I always look to her for product recommendations and styling tips. Her videos are thorough and informative, and she does a lot of different styles and braiding tutorials. She’s such a sweetheart, and she’s definitely someone you should subscribe to.
NATURALREIGN
Jaelen is the wash and go QUEEN! Like, do you see all of this hair? Like me, she is a high porosity, colored hair, type 4 natural, so I soak in all the tips I can from her! Although she is known for her wash and go combos, Jaelen does a variety of hairstyles, product reviews, and hair health videos. With all this length and volume, how could you not want to subscribe? Sis is definitely hair goals!
HALFRICAN BEAUTE
I’m a proud member of the #BEAUTEGANG, and Isi is the twist out QUEEN! She is one of my favorite YouTubers in general as well. If you want to grow and take care of your type 4 hair, she is the person to watch! She’s real, open, and acts like a real friend. In addition to natural hair videos, she also posts fashion and the BEST girl talks! Oh! And she has the cutest couples channel with her boyfriend. 10/10 recommend Halfrican Beaute!
