Here is my list of some of the best vegan Thanksgiving recipes! I guarantee you’ll find a new favorite from this list!
Vegans and non-vegans alike will love these recipes. And people won’t believe that they’re vegan! Some of the recipes are from my favorite food bloggers, and some are the veganized versions from my mom and grandmother’s kitchens! Either way, I hope you find a recipe you love, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Apple, Avocado, Cranberry, and Walnut Salad
If you’re anything like me, you’ll just scroll past this recipe to get to the junk, but this festive, holiday salad from Ness is perfect for Thanksgiving! It has all the lovely flavors of Fall and Winter, and it’s made with healthy, plant-based ingredients. The full recipe even includes a homemade vinaigrette dressing! If you’re in need of a delicious salad to serve this year, be sure to check this one out!
Lentil Loaf (Vegan Meatloaf)
I love this lentil loaf recipe for any day of the week, but it’s exceptionally wonderful for Thanksgiving! My favorite thing about this recipe is that there are minimal, simple ingredients, and the ketchup can be replaced with gravy for a different taste. This vegan meatloaf will have all of your dinner guests wanting seconds!
Vegan Turkey Roast
If you’re a lazy vegan like me, then you’re familiar with the Gardein and Tofurky holiday roasts, but with this recipe, you can make your own! This recipe has simple ingredients, and although there is some work to be done, this roast is totally doable for Thanksgiving!
Easy Vegan Cornbread Dressing
This recipe is my mom’s dressing recipe, but veganized! And I don’t want to toot my own horn, but it is definitely one of the best vegan Thanksgiving recipes. There are a lot of steps, but it’s totally worth it. I promise, this dressing tastes just like Grandma’s soul food version!
Makes 4-6 Servings
Cornbread Recipe
- 2 cups of self-rising flour and corn meal
- 1 flax egg (1 tbsp. ground flax seeds, 3 tbsp. water)
- 1/4 cup of oil
- 1 1/3 cup of milk (I like unsweetened soy milk)
Mix all ingredients together and pour into greased pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 350° F.
On the stove top, bring to a boil
- 1/2 stick of vegan butter
- 1 14 oz. bag of frozen onions, celery, and peppers mix
- 1 can of vegetable broth
Boil for 40 minutes
Mix together:
- Cornbread
- Boiled mixture
- 2 bags of Onion & Sage seasoned bread crumbs crushed
- Salt, pepper, and seasoned salt to taste
The mixture should be moist and flavorful. If dry, add more vegetable broth. Bake everything in a Corning ware dish for 40 minutes at 300° F.
Dressing can be refrigerated for 4 days or frozen for 3 months
Vegan Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Who doesn’t love buttery, garlic-y mashed potatoes? I know I do! This simple recipe only has a few ingredients, and it is very easy to make. Everyone around your table will love these mashed potatoes!
Southern Style Vegan Buttermilk Biscuits
The idea of making homemade biscuits is just so *aesthetic* to me! At first glance, this buttermilk biscuit recipe looks a little daunting, but it is actually quite simple. I prefer biscuits over dinner rolls because they are flaky and pair well with cranberry sauce and leftovers. If you want to try something new, and you’ve never made biscuits from scratch, I definitely recommend this recipe!
Roasted Brussels Sprouts (with Balsamic Reduction)
I know Brussels sprouts aren’t everyone’s favorite, but they are literally the only vegetable I like to have on Thanksgiving day! This recipe creates crispy, flavorful, tart Brussels sprouts that pair perfectly with Thanksgiving favorites. Serve them to your friend that hates Brussels sprouts. Even they’re guaranteed to like these!
Vegan Sweet Potato Pie
I cannot have Thanksgiving without sweet potato pie! And this recipe is from my own kitchen! I mentioned it in my 10 Vegan Fall and Winter Dessert Recipes post, and of course, I have to include it here! This is one of my favorite vegan Thanksgiving recipes, and my absolute favorite Thanksgiving dessert. If you make it, tag me on social media @naturalblackvegan, or leave a comment telling me how you liked it!

Vegan Pumpkin Cheesecake
This pumpkin cheesecake will set you above all the rest this Thanksgiving! It’s double-layered, includes a gingersnap crust, and is topped with vegan whipped cream. It can’t get any better than this! The ingredients are simple, it’s easy to make, and it’s packed with tons of Fall flavor. What’s not to love?
Vegan Apple Crisp
My sister and I make this apple crisp every Fall, and our family and friends love it! Personally, I love the crumble on top, but my mom loves the tart apples underneath. Either way, this recipe is perfect for Thanksgiving (or any other time of year)!
