After five years vegan, I’ve finally perfected my vegan skin care routine! I’ve tried so many different products for my combination skin (which luckily is not sensitive or particular), and right now, it is perfect! I’m not a dermatologist, so my research just consists of trying different items at Ulta and using what works. (Basically, don’t expect any science here). But, if you’re looking for a simple, vegan skin care routine, here is mine!

Face Wash: Botanics All Bright Cleansing Foam Wash

It’s very difficult to find a face wash that isn’t drying, smells great, and doesn’t break the budget, but this one is it! I love this face wash because it is clarifying without being stripping, and it foams! Who doesn’t love foamy face washes? This face wash does a great job at washing off makeup (even waterproof mascara), and it does not have a heave fragrance. Oh! And one of the best parts: It costs $6.99! If you haven’t tried it before, you need to!

I begin my routine by washing my hands. Then, I rinse my face with warm water. I rub this face wash between my hands and massage it all around my face and neck and then rinse it off with warm water. I dry my face by patting it with a washcloth.

Face Scrub: Tree Hut Watermelon and Cactus Face Scrub

I don’t always use a face scrub. But when I do, this is the one I use! I recently found Tree Hut skin and body products while looking through the vegan section of Ulta, and I have a new fave! I’ve tried three different products from this brand, and they’re all amazing. Anyway, this face scrub is a gentle, hydrating exfoliant with ingredients like sugar, watermelon, cactus, and alpha hydroxy acid. My skin feels clean and refreshed after using it, and it costs less than $10! If you like facial scrubs, you should definitely try my favorite!

I use the scrub about once a week between washing and toning. I apply a quarter-sized amount all over my face, massaging it as I go. Then, I rinse it off with warm water and pat dry with a washcloth.

Toner: Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner

I love facial toners because they show just how much dirt is left on the face after cleansing. Aside from that, they also help control oil and minimize pores. I love this particular toner because it is made with aloe and rosewater, it’s hydrating, it has minimal ingredients, and it smells like roses. I buy it at Ulta for $11.99, and it is definitely an essential part of my vegan skin care routine.

After washing, I apply my toner to a reusable makeup pad. I apply it to my face in an upward motion, making sure I get my neck and behind my ears. Whatever is left on my face, I leave to dry.

Eye Serum: The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG

I’ve been using this serum for a few months now, and it’s really great for puffiness and dark circles around the eyes. It’s water-based and fragrance-free, and of course the price is great! A little bit of product goes a long way, and it costs less than $7. As with any new skin care product, do a patch test before using this, but if you’re looking to try a caffeine serum, this is the one I recommend.

After toning, I apply a small amount of this serum under and around my eyes. I gently pat it into my skin (avoiding my eyes) with the pad of my ring finger.

Face Serum: The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA

I’ve also been using this serum for a few months, but I can already see a difference in my skin! I had a few areas that were dark, and this serum helped even them up. It also works well for scarring, and it keeps my skin hydrated. I love my serums from The Ordinary because they are vegan, fragrance-free, and affordable. 10/10 recommend!

After applying the eye serum, I apply a few drops of this serum all over my face and neck. Next, I rub it into my skin with either my ring finger or my jade roller. Whatever product is left on my face, I leave to dry.

Face Cream: e.l.f. Cosmetics Fragrance Free Holy Hydration! Face Cream

This lightweight, fragrance-free cream is so hydrating and very affordable! The different ingredients help with tone, texture, pores, and elasticity, and it’s great for all skin types. I use this cream in the morning and at night because it is so soothing and moisturizing. If you have dry skin or need an extra layer of moisture, you should definitely try this face cream.

After the serums, I apply a generous amount of this face cream all over my face and neck, making sure to smooth it in an upward motion. If going to bed, I stop at this step.

Face Oil: NOW Solutions Sweet Almond Oil

I use this almond oil on my face, body, and scalp because it’s just that good! On my face, almond oil is good for evening the skin tone, antiaging effects, and preventing sun damage. And I notice that I have a great glow whenever I use it in my skin care routine. Because of all of these properties, almond oil is just good to have in your stash! Did I mention that it’s also a great carrier oil for essential oil blends? You need it!

In the morning, I apply this oil after the face cream. I apply a quarter-sized amount to my face and neck, making sure to smooth in an upward motion.

Sunscreen: Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30

Since I first heard of Black Girl Sunscreen, it’s been the only sunscreen I use! And, no skin care routine is complete without it! This sunscreen is perfect because it is moisturizing, it has no white cast, and it leaves me with a glow. It is on the more expensive side, but it is 100% worth it. A little bit goes a long way, and she is definitely waterproof! From here on out, this is the only sunscreen I will ever buy!

In the morning, I apply this sunscreen as the last step in my routine. I get my face, neck, ears, and any other skin that is out for the day.

That completes my vegan skin care routine. What products have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments! Also, leave a comment if you would like to see my vegan body care routine!
